Performs sewer and water investigations to ensure compliance with Provincial Legislation and City By-laws and Standards.

Reporting to the Manager of Wastewater Services, this position is responsible for operational and maintenance of the Township’s wastewater and sewage systems including maintenance, monitoring, and emergency repairs. This position is responsible for all technical aspects of wastewater and stormwater systems including, wastewater treatment plants, sewage pumping stations, low pressure sewer systems, forcemains, mains, storm water management ponds, and conveyance channels.
Provided the Operator meets the requirements under the Ontario Water Resources Act, the Wastewater Operator acts as Operator in Charge. The Wastewater Operator is responsible for onsite operations, directs contractors and summer students as needed, participates in the on-call and call-out rotations and must be available to periodically work weekends and outside normal working hours.

Reporting to the Manager Water Construction and Design, the successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision and field administration of the water capital program. The successful candidate will oversee and direct the daily operation of all water engineering technologist staff, oversee contractors and provide guidance to water distribution and water production to ensure compliance with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) regulations, conformance to Drinking Water Quality Management and Health and Safety. This position is responsible to assist with design and contract preparation as needed for the water capital program. The Supervisor, Capital Projects ensures the use of consistent and accurate design standards, procedures and construction methods to guarantee a safe and reliable supply of water to ratepayers and compliance with recognized standards and MECP Regulations. This position is the on-site liaison for customers, consultants and contractors as related to assigned capital projects. In collaboration with Water Engineering, this position supports the capital projects for water distribution and water production including responsibility for engineering design, project planning, estimates of project costs and preparation of tender documents. This position also supports the supervision of these projects including making recommendations to Water Engineering for constructability issues and schedules.
