In the years since the Walkerton Inquiry first introduced source water protection requirements to Ontario, Toronto Water's source water protection responsibilities have steadily increased to a point that a dedicated position for Source Water Protection Advisor has been created. The Source Water Protection Advisor will be responsible for fulfilling Toronto Water's source protection commitments. 

Reporting directly to the Superintendent of SCADA, the successful candidate shall support the safe, efficient and effective delivery of water/wastewater treatment, distribution and collection for City of Hamilton Water as a technical resource under Plant Maintenance and Technical Services – SCADA.

The Manager Wastewater Operations is responsible for managing the daily operations of the area’s wastewater treatment plants and remote facilities, ensuring their efficient operation and compliance with all regulatory agencies as the Overall Responsible Operator (ORO).

Reporting to the Director, IT Operational Systems, in this role you will:

Lead digital transformation programs and projects that translate the strategy and vision into systems, platforms and applications that deliver real time actionable insights and allow for data driven business decisions and process optimization. Establish and deliver new business opportunities for SCADA and Industrial Control Systems, to generate new revenue and business streams through the implementation of emerging technologies including consolidating the agency’s position as a total solution and services provider. Drive the culture change associated with digital transformation through active mentorship and education programs at all agency level, engaging actively with stakeholders to promote enhance and contribute to the general vision and strategy and its delivery Design, pilot and implement operational to business systems integration in areas related to operations and regulatory compliance. Modernize existing applications through continuous development, migrating toward mobile application delivery as a standard way to present process data and information to users Enhance and automate existing corporate platforms to support next digital transformation phases.

Établir et offrir de nouvelles occasions d'affaires pour les systèmes d'acquisition et de contrôle des données (SCADA) et les systèmes de contrôle industriel, afin de générer de nouveaux revenus et volets d'affaires grâce à la mise en œuvre de technologies émergentes, y compris la consolidation de la position de l'organisme en tant que fournisseur de solutions et de services globaux. Favoriser le changement de culture associé à la transformation numérique grâce à des programmes actifs de mentorat et d'éducation à tous les niveaux de l'organisme, en mobilisant activement les intervenants pour promouvoir, améliorer et contribuer à la vision et à la stratégie générales et à leur mise en œuvre. Concevoir, mettre à l'essai et mettre en œuvre l'intégration des systèmes opérationnels à commerciaux dans les domaines liés aux opérations et à la conformité réglementaire. Moderniser les applications existantes par le développement continu, en migrant vers la livraison d'applications mobiles comme moyen habituel de présenter les données et les renseignements de processus aux utilisateurs. Améliorer et automatiser les plateformes organisationnelles existantes pour appuyer les prochaines phases de transformation numérique.

The Laboratory Technician (Wastewater) position is involved in a variety of laboratory-based investigations within biological, chemical and physical areas. The testing, measuring, recording and analyzing of results provide the required technical support to operate the diverse treatment processes of the facilities as well as maintain all regulatory requirements whilst adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.
