The importance of handwashing as the single most effective way of preventing the spread of COVID-19 has brought water and sanitation issues to the forefront during the global pandemic response. Access to safe water, sanitation and hygienic conditions is essential to protecting human health however, 35 million Brazilians do not have access to potable water and 100 million live without sewage collection. With social distancing measures in place and increasing financial strain, Brazilian industry is seeking automated solutions to reduce the need for physical inspections and water reuse and recycling technologies that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Canada’s global leadership in the development of advanced water and wastewater technologies is well-aligned with the needs of the Brazilian market. This webinar in partnership with the Trade Commission at the Consulate General of Canada in Brazil will provide Canadian cleantech companies with an overview of the Water and Wastewater sector in Brazil with a COVID-19 lens, business opportunities and challenges. Organizers will promote the Virtual Water and Wastewater Trade Mission to Brazil from November 16-19, 2020.
