POSITION: Coordinator of Water and Wastewater Programs (Competition #2022-104) LOCATION: Public Works EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Permanent Full-time REPORTING TO: Supervisor of Water and Wastewater Technical Services UNION AFFILIATION: Non-Union WAGE RANGE: $38.71/hr-$48.39/hr ($80,516.80-$100,651.20 annually) POSITION SUMMARY: Ensures that water and wastewater systems are operating within Ministry regulations to ensure the safety of municipal drinking water, prevent violations and possible legal action. Oversees other water and wastewater programs and operational projects. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Community college diploma in environmental sciences or equivalent education and related experience. - Three years' experience in related field such as municipal public works, environmental consulting engineering, chemical or microbiological laboratory, operations of waterworks, and/or the Ministry of Environment. - Extensive knowledge of environmental legislation. - An understanding of chemistry and microbiology. A general understanding of water and wastewater systems workings and treatment processes. - Strong computer and analytical skills. - Excellent written and oral skills in dealing with government representatives, the public and interpreting environmental legislation. - Valid Ontario driver’s license required.
