Job Description Qualifications: Water and wastewater treatment certification, minimum Class 2 10 years of water/wastewater operating experience, preferably in small water/wastewater systems Strong mechanical and electrical skills, preferably accompanied by a trade designation/certification Responsibilities: Provide 24/7 technical support and first response "on-call" services to Ontario's First Nation communities Coordinate and provide on-site responses to 24/7 technical support and first response requests for emergency assistance Coordinate and complete minor and major capital improvements to First Nation water and wastewater treatment systems Provide water/wastewater operator relief coverage in remote First Nation communities Other Details: The position includes on-call standby responsibilities The position requires extensive travel to remote (air access only) First Nation communities The position is physically demanding and may require work in harsh environmental conditions (ie. cold weather) The position is likely to have irregular work schedules and/or extended hours of work The position allows for the candidate to live anywhere in Northwestern Ontario, from Thunder Bay to Kenora.
