The Town of Collingwood is looking for a Water Treatment (WT) Operator to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of all WT and distribution facilities operated by the Town. WT Operators are responsible and accountable for effective operation ensuring that all operations follow legislation, guidelines and polices. This position participates in the scheduled stand-by rotation with responsibility to respond to alarms, be assigned temporary Overall Responsible Operator (ORO) responsibilities, and provides mentoring and training to less experienced WT Operators. The main duties and responsibilities of the position are in the areas of monitoring and operating WT control systems and related equipment, maintenance functions, and other related functions. Normal hours of work are forty (40) hours per week. The hourly wage range is $33.83 to $39.63 (dependent upon license level).
