Water Treatment / Public Works Operator

Job Summary

The Corporation of the Town of Latchford is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our team as a Water Treatment / Public Works Operator.

Qualifications & Assets

·         Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

·         Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s Licence and a clear Driver’s Abstract

·         DZ Licence considered a strong asset

·         Water Treatment Class 1 Certification preferred or willingness to obtain

·         Experience in municipal public works, water treatment, or equipment operation considered an asset

·         Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

·         Ability to work safely in varying indoor and outdoor conditions

·         Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

·         Willingness to participate in overtime and on-call rotations

Responsibilities

•      Water treatment and distribution system monitoring and maintenance

•      Snow plowing, sanding, grading, grass cutting and road maintenance

•      Operation of municipal equipment and vehicles

•      Routine inspections, testing, and reporting

•      Infrastructure and facility maintenance

•      Responding to public inquiries and emergency situations

Compensation & Benefits

•      $23.00 – $30.00 per hour and will be based on the successful applicant’s experience
