Rain It In - 2022 Student Competition

January 23, 2022

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Rain It In is a Canadian non-profit and annual competition that challenges post-secondary students to create innovative solutions that will mitigate the impacts of intense rainfall events and flooding. Our 4th annual competition will be hosted in partnership with the Town of Ajax and be facilitated virtually from January-April, 2022. Registration is open to students studying at a Canadian college or university.

As climate change is a multi-sectoral problem, we recommend that participants build diversified teams across various programs to gain different perspectives and skills useful for developing a successful solution. We strongly encourage student teams to work with mentors from their institution’s internal incubator or accelerator programs.

Experiential Learning - Rain It In provides a unique experiential learning opportunity for students to apply the knowledge and skills they are developing through their education and apply it to a real-world problem affecting our communities.

Industry Spotlight - Through our mentorship program, students can network with industry professionals and learn about different career paths in the water space.

Implementing Change - In supporting students with the transition from ideas to entrepreneurship and product commercialization, we are creating new career opportunities and ultimately implementing solutions that will positively impact our communities and the environment.
